There are a lot of reasons to consider Scottsdale Arizona as a permanent or vacation destination. Scottsdale is a year-round destination for a lot of folks that live in other areas. It does get hot, up 210°F in the middle of summer but is relatively mild during the fall and winter. And yes, it is a dry heat meaning that you won't step out of the shower and instantly be wet again once you walk outside. It never gets super cold and even though it gets toasty in the summer months, we can definitely make good use of our swimming pools, ministers, and our air conditioning.

Scottsdale is a mecca for fantastic drinks, dining, and a foodies destination. The food and wine scene is booming with wineries, breweries, great tacos, high-end dining, craft beers and wood-fired pizzas. You can find just about any… I take that back, you literally can find any type of food in the Scottsdale area and because it's such a large community, you'll find pockets of ethnic favorites like Tex-Mex, Indian cuisine, Ethiopian, Polynesian, and our American favorites.

Yhomes for sale in Scottsdaleou don't have to be stuck indoors even on warm days. There are a lot of ways to enjoy the outdoors. In the fall, winter, and early spring months hiking the McDowell Sonoran Reserve is a great way to spend a weekend. Escape into the mountains just 20 minutes outside of Scottsdale and experience over 30,000 acres of major trailheads connecting to more than 200 miles of desert trails.

Take a canoe or kayak trip along the Lower Salt River. Bring your coolers and inner tubes on the weekends or book a kayaking and paddleboard tour. It's easy to cool off on the water without getting too far out of the city.

We love our performing arts and architecture culture. We have a Wild West vibe that well not to overly modern, and still keep up with the best of them. Our Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art rotates exhibits every few months and is a great place to cool off during the summer or wander into one of the 70  fine art galleries and other museums throughout Scottsdale.

Scottsdale is a fairly young city incorporated in 1951. Known as the West's Most Western Town, the city has seen substantial growth year after year and is in the top 100 of largest city populations in the country. It has a thriving nightlife and social scene compared to the Miami South Beach area but the population is incredibly diverse spanning ethnicities and culture. 32% of the population is between the ages of 25 and 49 with 70% under the age of 18. A large part of the working population has employment in the tourism industry. It's popular with retirees, millennial's, young professionals, and college-age students. Because of this, the cost of living is fairly affordable. If you're moving from other major cities such as Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, or Seattle, chances are the cost of living will be much lower. Housing is lower, food and groceries are slightly lower, the median home prices quite a bit lower, however, utilities and health costs are slightly higher.

The PCUSD serves Northeast Phoenix and North Scottsdale while the SUSD serves most of Scottsdale, most of the town of Paradise Valley, as well as parts of Tempe and East Phoenix. The Scottsdale school district has 33 schools including five high schools and the Paradise Valley school district is the seventh-largest school district in the state with approximately 30,000 students and 3800 employees. It covers 47 schools and seven high schools.

Scottsdale is also home to the Scottsdale Community College as well as higher education institution locations such as the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine, University of Phoenix, Gateway Seminary, and the Scottsdale Culinary Institute.
